Top of the hill
Caption: When Sarah mentioned to David that these looked like an old house, he confirmed they were, and said a couple of hills over there is still one you can go "down inside".  Unfortunately, we didn't have time to hike over to see that one this trip.

Caption: There are lots of coyotes in the woods, so all chickens and turkeys are locked up at night, often in these log structures built up off the ground. Some people have structures built of boards. All of them have a dog tied to them at night to scare off the coyotes.

Caption: We are headed downhill, you can see the road re-appear on the lower left. The corn field on the upper right is above the road. We will continue around the hill, then switchback to the right, on our way into San Mateo village center.

Caption: As Brigida's father gave us a tour of the school, a gaggle of local kids collected.  According to Brigida, an American stayed at her fathers for three months a few years ago, and prior to that it had been many years.
